Toronto,
Ontario… At a gala banquet held on Wednesday November 1, 2006, Tridel
was recognized by the Canadian Information Productivity
Awards (C.I.P.A.), with
the Gold Award for Organizational Transformation, for its efforts to deliver
greater value to homebuyers through the use of information technology solutions.
This is Tridel’s second win at C.I.P.A., having first been recognized
in 2002. C.I.P.A. is Canada’s largest awards program in the field of information
management and has been disseminating best practices in the field since 1992.
Continuing its unique role in the industry, each year C.I.P.A. identifies organizations
of all sizes, and in all sectors, that demonstrate the value of technology solutions.
A 13-member National Judging Committee, made up of information technology management experts from across the country is responsible for the selection of CIPA award winners. Winning solutions also undergo an independent, on-site review, carried out by Cap Gemini Ernst & Young Canada to verify the entry.
Tridel has won this award thanks to the extraordinary commitment made by Tridel’s in-house technology experts who created Tridel’s Electronic Access Management (TEAM) system. Since it’s introduction more than ten years ago, TEAM has grown into the most efficient and effective business management tool linking every branch of the organization, improving both customer service and operational efficiency.
“The TEAM System was designed with the customer in mind, and we are honoured that it has been recognized by the Canadian Information Productivity Awards,” said Ted Maulucci, Chief Information Officer, Tridel. “The system allows the staff at Tridel to effectively manage every aspect of each individual home purchase from start to finish, which results in superior customer service for each and every Tridel homebuyer.”
TEAM is an on-line service that enables information to be moved instantaneously between various staff “user groups” whether based at Tridel’s head office, out in the field at sales centres, or on the construction sites. This cutting edge system takes the form of a Wide Area Network, linked by high-speed lines, and begins with the sales representatives who first create the customer inquiry and sales records. Other Tridel departments, such as marketing, customer service, project management, construction, legal and bookkeeping, can then access this information. By simplifying the delivery of information, employees are equipped to make informed decisions and take the necessary follow-up action much more quickly. TEAM is an ongoing project that is committed to further innovation by using information technology to increase efficiency and improve service with Tridel’s customers, suppliers and partners.
C.I.P.A. recognizes and celebrates information technology innovation and excellence across Canada. This year’s finalists represented both private companies and government agencies from across Canada. A C.I.P.A. award constitutes the highest form of recognition for the capabilities of an organization and its executives.
As one of the largest business awards programs in Canada and the premier showcase for Canadian IT and innovation, the mission of C.I.P.A. is to find visionary organizations that have developed innovative results-based technology solutions.
