Conversation with Tridel Project Director
Peter Meneguzzi On Building
Renaissance of Richmond Hill

Renaissance of Richmond Hill - is not only the name of Tridel’s luxurious new boutique condominium residence, it’s a community dream. Project Director Peter Meneguzzi is looking forward to building “a fine residence that will be part of recapturing the character and charm of Richmond Hill’s historic village area.” Tridel’s industry standard-setting expectations for Renaissance will be fulfilled by its project management team, who will co-ordinate consultants, architects, site planners, landscape designers, interior designers, engineers, trades and craftsmen to execute Tridel’s vision through construction and well beyond. As Renaissance comes to fruition, its residents will be the direct beneficiaries of Peter’s careful supervision of a team of exacting professionals.

“As a terraced condominium designed on a human scale, the low-impact footprint of the Renaissance site plan will echo the charm of the neighbourhood, respect the heritage streetscape and surrounding homes by maintaining daylight corridors and unobstructed views of the town's century old church spires.”

Peter states that “We’ve gone through a lengthy process of involving the community during the planning and design phases and received strong direction that Renaissance should be sensitive to it’s surrounding historic environs. So, it was resolved to keep the building at a seven story height along Yonge Street. It will terrace back from the street at both ends - to allow sunlight to the streets and sightlines of the town’s church steeples.” He continues. “The Yonge Street face will complement the look of a vibrant, charming main street and the elevation along Church Street will blend with much quieter tree-lined residential surroundings. Our research has also shown us that there is a strong need for larger, more luxurious condominium residences in Richmond Hill. Renaissance will be a unique boutique condominium of just over 100 residences.”

Building on Tridel's trademark devotion to superior quality and design. “…the Renaissance exterior will feature traditional styling and materials such as, wrought-iron style balconies, colonnades, intricate brick soldier coursing, accent banding and a barrel-vaulted, arched entryway located between specialty shops and boutiques - leading in from Yonge Street,” states Peter. Through the arched opening, residents and visitors will arrive “…into a private landscaped courtyard, highlighted by an elliptical knoll with landscaping and seasonal planting at its centre. Because of the building’s unique design, the lobby has been designed over two levels. There will be a weather-protected lower level resident entry and a separate street level ceremonial entrance for guests.”

“We at Tridel are also firmly committed to being environmental leaders in our industry. And so, Tridel has registered Renaissance to pursue LEED® (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Development) certification by the Canada Green Building Council.” says Peter.

“Tridel’s ‘Naturally Better’ green building initiative will be bolstered by proven, tried-and-tested technologies and best practices at work within Renaissance”.

“For instance, the three levels of the underground parking garage with access from Yonge Street or Church Street, will make efficient use of the site’s already low-impact dimensions and minimize the necessity of surface paving.” Continues Peter. Tridel’s “Naturally Better” finishing schedules will include high efficiency space conditioning, lighting and bathroom fixtures and ENERGY STAR® appliances, combined with high performance ventilation systems and environmentally preferable finishes. The direct benefits will be a healthier, more comfortable home while also saving on utility costs.

“The suites here were carefully designed for people moving from larger family homes and to accommodate their generously sized furnishings”

“The suites here have been designed for people who might be moving in from large family homes, professional couples and singles who are looking for a larger, more sophisticated residence along with a care-free lifestyle.” Peter notes. There are longer open interior spans allowing for expansive living spaces and the 9 foot ceiling heights will add to this feeling of space. Purchasers will be able to choose from over 30 unique floor plan designs ranging from approximately 1000 sq ft to over 2800 sq. ft. and, all suites will come with 2 bedrooms with a choice of dens or family rooms. Of course, purchasers will be able to customize features and finishes to create a home that will be a true expression of their personality.
