Tridel's Stella Salvador Speaks About
Designing The Suites Of Renaissance

Read the June 2010 Condo Life interview with Stella

As one of Tridel's in-house interior designers, Stella Salvador is an essential member of the team that is responsible for designing the spacious floor plan layouts and selecting the exquisite finishing appointments of the residences for Renaissance of Richmond Hill.

"Renaissance will be an intimate boutique condominium of just over 100 suites. And, we believe there's a strong market for people moving in from large family homes, as well as professional couples and singles looking for larger, more luxurious condominium residences. We've designed more than 30 unique 2-bedroom floor plans, with den or family room options, in an array of sizes ranging from approximately 1,000 to over 2,800 square feet. All suites will also come with either a balcony or wonderful oversized terrace." Stella continues that at Tridel..., "the fundamentals of good design are paramount and we're just not satisfied until the floor plans are perfect.

"Our philosophy is to design from the inside out, with the end user, our Tridel customer, foremost in mind..."

"The suites that we will be building at Renaissance must have presence. They will be of ample size and proportion. From a proper and formal foyer to high, 9-foot ceilings, clean lines, grand living and entertaining spaces, large windows for plenty of natural light and spacious walk-in closets." The team's meticulous attention to detail ensures that even the nearly imperceptible is just right.

The "functional and roomy U- and L-shaped designer kitchens will feature granite countertops, premium quality appliances, many with adjacent breakfast areas with large windows, extended height upper cabinetry to maximize storage, invaluable under-cabinet lighting and appropriate thresholds to dining rooms for graceful sightlines. The design and finish of the powder rooms and lavish ensuite baths demonstrate the practical nature of Tridel design – they are created for how people really live and use the space. Many will have deep oval soaker tubs, separate showers, and room for more cabinetry. This also gives us the occasion to make a beautiful feature of the mirror, lit by sconces directly overhead," states Stella.

"The features and finishing appointments of Renaissance are luxurious and refined. A lot of thought and a great deal of attention has gone into their selection."

"The choices reflect our commitment to build for lifelong permanence. For instance, high quality imported Italian porcelain tiles will be used instead of stone because they look better, are more durable, and require less maintenance. As well, today's best 4" plank laminate flooring with micro-bevels in assorted lengths will increase wearability," says Stella. "Every suite at Renaissance will come installed with Tridel's Softwire technology, designed to 'future proof' your home so that the suite can be fully equipped to take advantage of emerging technologies in communications, Internet access and home entertainment."

"We have also taken the challenge to make Renaissance an environmentally conscious residence." States Stella.

This is all part of Tridel's 'Naturally Better' commitment towards sustainability which includes registration with the Canada Green Building Council for certification by the LEED Green Building Rating System. (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Development). "Renaissance will come with numerous environmentally preferred features such as an efficient heat-recovery ventilator system in every suite providing cleaner, fresher air, more cost effectively. Environmentally preferable corridor carpeting, wall coverings, adhesives, coatings and paints with low volatile organic compounds will minimize toxic odours." Reminds Stella. "The benefits to our residents will be immediate, in that they can look forward to a healthier, more comfortable interior environment while saving on utility costs."

After completing their Agreement of Purchase and Sale, an attentive Tridel Customer Care representative will guide purchasers through the process of finalizing the electrical/ mechanical requirements, colour selections and assisting in the selection of finishes. "Customers will be able to choose from superior quality finishes or personalize their choices from an extensive selection of optional extras" Stella continues. She also advises that a little advance research for these appointments is a great idea. "Many customers bring along such things as sofa cushions to match against selection samples or magazine clippings with pictures of bedrooms and kitchens they like. It's one more way to ensure that customers will make their suite distinctively their own. Some purchasers will want to involve their own interior designers to personalize their new home. We will, of course, be very happy to accommodate them. Our aim, after all - is to make this home the dream home they’ve always wanted." concludes Stella.

Stella and the interior design team bring life to Tridel's superior design – level of finish, attention to detail, environmental responsibility and relentless pursuit of perfection – and their commitment to gracious living in the heart of Richmond Hill’s historic village area.
