How the new facilities will enhance the programs at NTCI

North Toronto Collegiate Institute has a proud tradition of excellence and for preparing students for post-secondary education. There are many aspects of this school that contribute to this tradition such as innovative and challenging academic programs in Maths & Sciences, the Arts (Music, Drama and Visual Arts), Modern & Classical Languages, Social Studies, Business & Computer Studies, English and Health & Physical Education. In addition to academics, students are engaged in many leadership, community and extra-curricular pursuits. A new school will allow our students to access and learn in state-of-the-art facilities to continue to produce the high level work they have been demonstrating. In an enhanced environment such as the new NTCI, the benefits and quality of work demonstrated will be limitless!

Benefits of a new building:

  • A state-of-the-art theatre with modern acoustics and design which will allow us to not only continue the tradition of innovative assemblies, shows and special events but will allow students in musical bands & ensembles and drama groups to enhance their abilities in an exciting environment.
  • A Drama room that can function as a learning and performance space with superior lighting, sound and staging possibilities.
  • Computer and Science labs with state-of-the-art technology, equipment and design, and Visual Art rooms that will allow students to experience a wider range of art techniques and styles.
  • A beautiful courtyard, commons area and walkway that will allow students to feel like they part of a community and to learn and relax in a peaceful and collegial environment.
  • Music rooms that will expand the musical possibilities of string, band and choral classes and ensembles.
  • The latest and most innovative Information & Communication technology (ICT) to support students and staff in all curricular areas.
  • A large Library and Information Resource Centre with innovative teaching and technology centres and an enhanced book and software selection.
  • Full-size and modern Gyms, Field and Track that will allow a wider range of athletic endeavours and opportunities as well as establish NT as a site for home games, tournaments and to be an athletic focal point for the board.
  • An Eco-friendly environment where students will continue to develop their commitment to local and global concerns.
  • Incorporation of many heritage aspects that will continue to guide and teach future generations of students about the proud tradition of this school.
