Tridel’s Dave Lefevre, Chief Estimator will be the featured speaker on
Thursday February 28th, 2008

Dave Lefevre

Dave’s career has taken many interesting paths. Upon graduation from George Brown College with a 4.0 grade average from the Construction technology program, Dave was hired as a Jr. Estimator by George Wimpey Canada Ltd. After a year Dave was sent to England for 2 years as a management trainee with George Wimpey UK Ltd. While there he worked on Military dock installations in Plymouth and became interested in the field of underwater construction. Upon returning to Canada he left his position and went back to school to become a commercial diver. Dave worked in this field for a few years which included underwater construction, pipe laying, explosive work and the occasional DB removal. He still occasionally does commercial dive jobs.

Once he married he returned to the field of above water construction and has held a variety of different positions. He is a P.Q.S. (Professional Quantity Surveyor) and a P.L.E. (Professional Land Economist) He is currently in his 24th year at Tridel and holds the position of Chief Estimator, responsible for many duties including budget preparation, cost control, etc…

He has also taught at George Brown College.

He has maintained his love for diving and has recently become 1 of 4 Instructor Trainers for SSI in Canada. He is very active still in his diving activities including teaching and escorting groups to the Caribbean for personal enjoyment.
