Tridel’s Michael Mann, Director of Strategic Marketing will be the featured speaker on Tuesday April 29th, 2008

Michael Mann is the Director of Strategic Marketing at Tridel Builders Inc. Michael works with senior members of the Tridel team in the acquisition of land parcels for the purpose of future residential development. His role is to run financial models (known as pro formas) to asses the potential project’s viability and thereafter craft a presentation to the land owner in hopes of acquiring the land. Preparing pro formas involves the organization of numerous variables into a comprehensive financial model that captures the essence of a proposed project and business terms. As each project is unique and involves a different set of circumstances, Michael works with many of Tridel’s various in-house disciplines such as Planning, Marketing, Finance and Construction in order to understand and address the challenges associated with development of a specific project. Finally, once the analysis reveals a suitable opportunity for development, Michael will work with the Legal staff at DelZotto Zorzi to prepare an offering memorandum to present to the Land owner.
Michael received a Master in Business Administration (M.B.A) from the Schulich School of Business at York University. There he specialized in real estate and finance and also earned a Diploma Certificate in Real Property Development in that time. Michael received a number of scholarships including the SIOR and NAIOP awards of excellence. Michael also has a Canadian Securities Certificate from the Canadian Securities Institute and has a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Western Ontario in psychology.
Prior to joining Tridel, Michael was an Account Manager in the TD Bank Commercial Real Estate division. There he worked with developers, managing their outstanding loan commitments and building the bank’s loan portfolio. Michael has also had work experience in real estate commercial brokerage with Cushman Wakefield and LePage and was a financial analyst with Menkes development.
Michael’s extracurricular activities include Vice President of the B’nai Brith Don Mills Chapter where he is responsible for sports programming and membership. He is a former President of the Schulich Real Property Alumni Association and he served as an executive on the Alumni board for several years.
