Since its inception eleven years ago, the Northtown community has come into its own. Located at Yonge Street, south of Finch Avenue, this multi-faceted community features three styles of condominium residences: Casitas, The Tower Suites, and the executive Carriage Homes, all designed around a parking setting.

The master plan for Northtown unites the residences, including Triomphe 1, 2, Sommerset and Parkside, through a central community park, while maintaining independent amenities, which includes fitness and social clubs.

Tridel has built a network of walking paths that lead residents through the lavishly landscaped grounds to a European-inspired retail promenade with charming cafes, restaurants, shops and boutiques. The new Dominion Superstore, right in Northtown is connected through an underground passage way to the Triomphe buildings, which make grocery shopping a pleasure.

Modern Design Meets Grand Tradition

Tridel's No. 10 Bellair is one of Toronto's most luxurious condominiums located at the corner of Bloor and Bellair. The building is a significant addition to one of Canada's most famous streets. No. 10 Bellair is home to one of Toronto landmarks - the University Theatre. In 1947, this theatre was built by Famous Players which represented one of the first large post-war movie houses. The Theatre architect, Eric W. Hounsom, was strongly influenced by the Art Moderne style and incorporated this look in the exterior facade.

The University Theatre façade was considered a historical landmark to be preserved when Tridel was ready to build No. 10 Bellair. Although it is typical for a modern builder to 'build around' a historical landmark - Tridel approached City Council to not only preserve the integrity of the design but to reconstruct the form to better preserve this historical property.

Tridel took special care in the preservation process. The theatre facade was dismantled piece by piece, shrink wrapped for preservation, catalogued, and then placed into storage for approximately 2 years. As No. 10 Bellair was being built, the theatre facade was reconstructed to its original form through modern construction technology.

The preserved features of the original theatre include its undulating cut-marble base, sleek ticket booth, cantilevered canopies, magnificent two-storey, granite-framed window and the original stainless steel door frames, handles and detailing.
